HASBIL MUHAYMIN (SUFFICIENT FOR ME IS THE PREVAILING RULER)

حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ

Hasbuna-llahu wa ni'ma Wakeel

God is sufficient for us and excellent is He as a Patron

1. ﺣﺴﺒﻲ ﺍﻟﻤﻬﻴﻤﻦ ﻮ ﺣﺴﺒﻲ ﺍﻟﻮﺍﻗﻲ ## ﺣﺴﺒﻲ ﺍﻟﻘﺪﻳﻢ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﺣﺴﺒﻲ ﺍﻟﺒﺎﻗﻲ

1. Hasbil Muhayminu wa Hasbil Waaqee ## Hasbil Qadeemu-llaahi Hasbil Baaqee

1. Sufficient for me is The Prevailing Ruler, The protector ## Sufficient for me is The Ancient God and The Everlasting

2. ﺳﺒﺤﺎﻧﻪ ﻳﺤﻔﻆ ﻣﺎ ﻳﻮﺩﻉ ## ﻭﻟﻴﺲ ﻟﻠﻌﺒﺪ ﺳﻮﺍﻩ ﻣﻮﺩﻉ

2. Sub'haanahu yahfazu maa yuwadda'u ## wa laysa lil-'abdi siwaahu muuda'u

2. Glory to Him, He protects the neglected(servant) ## And there is none for the (neglected) servant other than He (as a protector)

3. ﺑﻪ ﺍﻧﺘﺼﺮﺕ ﺃﻧﻨﻲ ﻣﻐﻠﻮﺏ ## ﻭﻟﻄﻔﻪ ﺍﻟﺨﻔﻲ ﻟﻲ ﻣﺼﺤﻮﺏ

3. Bihi-n-tasartu annanee magluubu ## wa lutfuhul khafiyyu lii mas'uubu

3. By His grace I am victorious (else I am conquered) ## And His hidden kindness is my company

4. ﻧﺼﻴﺮ ﻳﺎﻧﺼﻴﺮ ﻳﺎﻧﺼﻴﺮ ## ﻓﺎﻗﻬﺮ ﻋﺪﻭﻱ ﺇﻧﻚ ﺍﻟﻘﺪﻳﺮ

4. Naseeru, Ya Naseeru, Ya Naseeru ## faq'har 'aduwee Innakal Qadeeru

4. Oh Champion, Supporter and Advocate ## Conquer my enemy, for You are The Able

5. ﺃﺭ ﻋﻴﺎﻧﺎ ﺇﻧﻚ ﺍﻟﻤﺮﻳﺪ ## ﻭﻻ ﻳﻜﻮﻥ ﻏﻴﺮ ﻣﺎ ﺗﺮﻳﺪ

5. Ari iyaanan Innakal mureedu ## wa laa yakuunu gayru maa tureedu

5. Show (indicate to me) visibly, that You desire (to do the conquering) ## For nothing happens except that which You wish (desire) to happen.

6. ﺃﺭ ﺍﻟﻌﺒﻴﺪ ﻛﻴﻒ ﺗﻘﻬﺮ ﺍﻟﻤﺮﻳﺪ ## ﻭﻛﻴﻒ ﺗﻨﺰﻝ ﻟﻪ ﻣﺎﺫﺍ ﻳﺮﻳﺪ

6. Aril ubayda kayfa taq'harul mureed ## wa kayfa tunzilu lahuu maazaa yureedu

6. Show to the servant how You subdue the seeker ## And (show to him again) how You bring down to him that he seeks(needs).

7. ﻟﺘﻨﺘﻘﻢ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﻌﺪﻭ ﺣﻴﻨﺎ ## ﻭﺧﺬﻩ ﺇﻧﻪ ﻳﻌﺎﺩ ﺍﻟﺪﻳﻨﺎ

7. Litantaqim minal aduwwi heenan ## wa khuzuhhu innahu yu'aadu-d-deenaa

7. Take repraisals(revenge) on the enemy timely, ## And seize him for he actually antagonizes the religion.

8. ﻻ ﺗﺒﻖ ﻣﻦ ﺁﺛﺎﺭﻩ ﻟﻴﺎﺩﺍ ## ﻓﻘﺪ ﺑﻐﻰ ﻭﺃﺩﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﻌﻨﺎﺩﺍ

8. Laa tabqi min aathaarihi layaadan ## faqad bagaa wa admana l 'inaadaa

8. Maintain not a single of his vestiges(traces) of him ## For he has transgressed and is addicted to stubbornness.

9. ﻫﺒﻪ ﻧﻜﺎﻻ ﻭﺍﻣﻄﺮﻥ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ## ﻣﻄﺮ ﺳﻮﺀ ﻭﺍﻣﺢ ﻣﺎ ﻟﺪﻳﻪ

9. Hab'hu nakaalan wamtiran 'alayhi ## matra suu'in wam'hu maa ladayhi

9. Chain(cuff) him and rain upon him ## Evil(dreadful) rain and erase (confiscate) his belongings.

10. ﻭﻟﺘﻌﻄﻨﻲ ﺳﺆﻟﻲ ﻭﺯﺩﻟﻲ ﺧﻴﺮﻱ ## ﻭﻟﺘﻜﺜﺮﻥ ﻣﺪﻯ ﺍﻟﻌﺼﻮﺭ ﻣﻴﺮﻱ

10. Wal-tu'tinee su'ulee wa zid-lee khayree ## wal-takthiran madal 'usuuri mayree

10. Grant my demands and increase my blessings, ## And increase the extent of my lifespan.

11. ﻧﻌﻢ ﺍﻟﺠﻠﻴﻞ ﻣﻠﺠﺌﺎ ﻭﺳﻨﺪﺍ ## ﺇﻥ ﻧﺎﺑﻨﻲ ﺃﻣﺮ ﺩﻋﻮﺕ ﺍﻟﺼﻤﺪ

11. Ni'imal jaleelu malja'an wa sanadan ## in naabanee amrun da'awtu-s-samadaa

11. Most Great: (be for me) refuge and support ## When I am fanged(bitten) by a situation I call onto The Lord.

12. ﻋﺴﻰ ﺃﺭﻯ ﻧﺼﺮﺍ ﻗﺮﻳﺒﺎ ﻳﻜﻔﻲ ## ﻛﻞ ﺍﻟﻌﺪﻯ ﻭﺍﻟﻌﺒﺪ ﻫﺬﺍ ﻣﻜﻔﻲ

12. 'Asaa araa nasraan qareebaan yakfee ## kulla-l 'idaa wal 'abdu haazaa mukfee

12. Perhaps I see victory(triumph) near and which suffices, ## All contracts(infect) and this servant is sufficed (satiated).

13. ﻣﺘﻴﻦ ﻳﺎﻣﺘﻴﻦ ﻳﺎﻣﺘﻴﻦ ## ﺑﻚ ﺍﺳﺘﺠﺮﺕ ﺣﻴﺜﻤﺎ ﺃﻛﻮﻥ

13. Mateenu, Ya Mateenu, Ya Mateenu ## bika astajartu haythu maa akuunu

13. The Lasting, Durable and Enduring (adjectives of Allah), ## With You I seek refuge(protection) wherever I may be.

14. ﺃﻏﺚ ﻋﺒﻴﺪﺍ ﺿﺎﺭﻋﺎ ﺿﻌﻴﻔﺎ ## ﻟﻢ ﻳﻘﻮ ﻋﻦ ﺷﻲﺀ ﻭ ﻟﻮ ﺧﻔﻴﻔﺎ

14. Agith 'ubaydaan daari'aan da'eefaan ## lam yaqwi 'an shay'in wa lao khafeefaan

14. Support a servant competing but weak(feeble), ## He is unable (to deal with anything), not even little(insignificant).

15. ﻻ ﻋﻠﻢ ﻻ ﺣﺎﻝ ﻭﻻ ﺟﺎﻩ ﻭﻻ ## ﺣﻮﻝ ﻭﻻ ﻗﻮﺓ ﻟﻠﻌﺒﺪ ﻭﻻ

15. Laa ilma laa haala walaa jaaha walaa ## hawla walaa quwwata lil-abdi walaa

15. He (owns not) knowledge nor status nor honor (prestige) nor ## Might. Nor has the servant any strength, none has he.

16. ﻭﻛﻴﻞ ﻳﺎﻛﻴﻞ ﻳﺎﻭﻛﻴﻞ ## ﺃﻧﺖ ﺍﻟﺬﻱ ﺗﺴﻤﻊ ﻣﺎ ﺃﻗﻮﻝ

16. Wakeelu, Ya Wakeeli, Ya Wakeelu ## anta-l 'lazee tasma'u maa aquulu

16. Oh! Guarantor, Warrantor and Insurrer, ## You are that who hears what I say.

17. ﻛﻞ ﺍﻟﺬﻱ ﻃﻠﺒﺖ ﻣﻨﻚ ﻋﺠﻞ ## ﻓﺈﻧﻤﺎ ﺃﺧﺮﺕ ﻟﻢ ﻳﻌﺠﻞ

17. Kullu llazee talabtu minka ajjil ## fa innamaa akharta lam yu'ajjil

17. Hasten(in granting for me) all that I demanded from You, ## For it is not hastened that which You delayed.

18. ﻳﺎﺭﺏ ﺑﺎﻟﻤﺎﺣﻲ ﻟﺘﻤﺢ ﺃﺛﺮﻩ ## ﻭﺍﻣﺢ ﺍﻟﺬﻱ ﻗﺎﺭﺑﻪ ﻭﻧﺼﺮﻩ

18. Ya Rabbi bil maahee li-tam'hi atharah ## wam'hu-l 'lazee qaarabahu wa nasarah

18. Oh! My Lord, (for the honor of Al-Maahee: eraser of sins) do erase his(the servant's) trace (of sins), ## And erase(as well) that which closes onto him(of the sins) and give him(servant) victory.

19. ﻟﻄﻴﻒ ﺻﻠﻴﻦ ﻋﻠﻰ ﺍﻟﻤﺨﺘﺎﺭ ## ﻭﺀﺍﻟﻪ ﻭﺻﺤﺒﻪ ﺍﻷﺑﺮﺍﺭ

19. Lateefu salliyan 'alaa-l mukhtaari ## wa aalihi wa sahbihi-l abraar

19. The Gracious (lord) send blessings upon The Elected( prophet), ## And upon his pious family and companions.

....Bi-jahi sayyidil waraa (saw)...
